Virtual Choirs have been the epitome of choral performances during this pandemic. The opportunity to make music virtually and distanced is incredible but the method with which we perform feels stale and lacking creative spirit.
Inspired by our artistic students, the Singing Girls of Texas present Adventures in Color, a multimedia performance which explores the ideas of music as visual and performance art. Each piece was selected for its connection to different colors and our student-led groups had to not only learn and perform the music, but also come up with a visual concept that embodied the story, the color, and the essence of that piece.
All the work included in Adventures in Color is student directed and created. Every concept, photo, piece of art, or movement was created by their incredible minds — please enjoy, Adventures in Color.
Singing Girls of Texas is an auditioned ensemble at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. Adventures in Color is part of the Texas Center for Arts + Academics Performing Arts Series. Adventures in Color is appropriate for all ages.
We will also be hosting a one-time, socially-distanced in-person event called The Color Festival the evening of May 15th.
The Color Festival includes a big-screen showing of Adventures in Color, a live meet the artists panel, food trucks – entrees and dessert, balloon animals, above-the-mask face painting, and other colorful activities.
The performance will be streaming on this page, May 15 beginning at 7pm through May 22 at 10pm.
