Singing Girls of Texas is a professional-level women’s choral program with three core ensembles, which are housed at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA), and two community choirs that meet at FWAFA and our sister charter-school, Texas School of the Arts (TeSA).
For girls who wish to join Singing Girls of Texas, training begins in Kindergarten with our Community ensembles through Texas Music Conservatory. Our community groups extend all the way to 6th grade and all girls in those groups have the opportunity to sing with SGT throughout the course of their season. If a girl would like to move further, they may audition for Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) and begin their training in 7th grade with our Training Choir. Once students enter high school, they may audition for SGT Ensemble or SGT Tour choir, both of which provide further opportunities to learn and perform. SGT Ensemble is an attractive option for students who wish to continue their choir training, but are also interested in other artistic disciplines. SGT Tour Choir is an advanced performance-based ensemble that gives high-quality concerts in regional, national, and international tours.
The generous support of foundations, corporations, and especially individual donors passionate about the choir allow us to provide and grow these unique musical opportunities. We hope you will join us as a supporting member of Singing Girls of Texas.
