FORT WORTH, Texas– February 13, 2019–Texas Center for Arts + Academics (TCAA) launches its newest program, Texas Art Conservatory, to train young artists in grades 3-12 through intensive study in 2-D and 3-D media processes. Opening March 2019, after-school courses will be taught at 3901 S Hulen St in Fort Worth by highly skilled, credentialed faculty, and designed to build a strong foundation and develop increasing art skills and knowledge. Registration is now open at TexasArtConservatory.org.

At Texas Art Conservatory, students will explore our visual culture and its history, gain expertise in a broad range of artistic processes, and learn to apply those skills to create their individual style and aesthetic. Additionally, they will develop critical thinking skills, strengthen hand-eye coordination, and increase capacity to problem solve and connect ideas. As a result of a progressing curriculum, participants will increase their ability to imagine and create, as well as their understanding of art history, theory, and knowledge of key artists. Classes will be taught in a safe and supportive environment, nurturing students’ natural abilities and building upon them.

During each eight-week afterschool or weekend course, students will create 5-6 completed pieces which can be used to begin developing a personal portfolio. Each class will be taught by degreed instructors, who are active local artists with expertise in their artform. As courses are added to the program, Texas Art Conservatory will expand its curriculum, offering courses and workshops year round and establish a progressing path for students to develop their skill and artistry.

Texas Art Conservatory builds upon the legacy of Texas Boys Choir—and more recently Texas Dance Conservatory—to provide children with high-quality fine arts experiences. Clint Riley, President & CEO, says, “For more than 70 years we have given children the opportunity to experience and learn about the arts. We are honored to continue strengthening our community through quality programs that empower young people to leave their mark, achieving personal and artistic excellence.”About Texas Boys Choir
