FORT WORTH, TX – A huge honor, David Postlewate was announced Best Male Actor in a Play in last night’s Betty Lynn Buckley Awards for his role as Eugene in “Brighton Beach Memoirs.”

Named after Fort Worth’s own Tony® Award-winning Best Actress, Fort Worth Independent School District and Casa Mañana alumna Betty Lynn Buckley, this exciting scholarship awards program has stood to promote and celebrate excellence in high school musical theatre since 2000.

The 2020 award-ceremony was held virtually, as large gatherings are still not a viable option since the COVID-19 outbreak. This did not take away from the excitement, however, as the cast of “Brighton Beach Memoirs” all joined on a Zoom call and watched the award ceremony and celebrated together.

Mr. Postlewate shared his acceptance speech with us late last night and it is just so endearing to hear him share his love and appreciation for his mentors and peers. Congratulations, on your well-deserved award Mr. Postlewate!
